BMZ Group increases supply chain transparency and management
BMZ Group decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its strategic software in all locations. It chose to partner with Avanade because of our global presence and experience as a leading systems integrator in Germany.
Using Avanade Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (AIES), we supported BMZ Group with a complete ERP implementation, deploying engineering, sales order, warehousing, purchasing, production (Discrete and Kanban) and project management modules.
Other features include a specialized production preparation garage, giving employees a simplified and intuitive way to control logistics and production work directly from the Dynamics 365 platform.
With AIES, the implementation and data migration were completed quickly and under budget, demonstrating the success and quality of our partnership with Avanade
Chief Financial Officer, BMZ Group
The BMZ Group is a leading manufacturer of high-tech battery systems headquartered in Germany with locations in the US, France, Poland, China and Japan.
Following rapid growth, the company accumulated several disconnected legacy systems that were only partially supported by IT. Because it relied on spreadsheets and other manual tools, media breaks and double entries would interrupt operations. This limited visibility of the materials and capacities available on the factory floor made it challenging to keep production moving.
Improved efficiencies across production sites
Harmonized business processes on a single platform
Access to relevant and timely data for better business decision making
BMZ Group wanted:
More consistent material planning and improved product quality
Increased transparency to help solve issues in material flow and production resource planning
Delivery reliability, which improves customer service experiences
Greater flexibility to adapt processes and structures
The company now knows what transactions take place in its warehouses and production plants and can enhance power to its supply chain, ensuring the company can scale to meet the growing demand for its products.
Eclosia Group’s intelligent business operations improve traceability to build supply chain trust
A new and improved ERP system could help Eclosia achieve the consistency and predictability required to maintain the principle of uncompromising quality upon which the company was founded.
Avanade's leading strategy and deep knowledge and expertise in implementing large-scale ERP solutions offered Eclosia just what it needed to become a more intelligent enterprise and boost efficiency. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations on-premises was the platform of choice.
Avanade started with a common design and then rolled out the solution to Eclosia’s companies with increasing complexity for finance and operations, including purchase and inventory, manufacturing, supply chain management, advanced warehousing, distribution and more.
We now have a fully functional shared finance center where we can provide numerous standardized services, enabling substantial efficiency gain and cost reduction for all companies
Chief Financial Officer, Eclosia Group
Eclosia, a food processing, distribution and marketing group, is a major player in the Mauritian economy, employing more than 4,000 people in over 35 companies.
Siloed operating systems cause inconsistencies and delays
With no shared, common financial system and about 20 different operating systems, employees experienced unnecessary complications and delays in delivering services and products to its business customers.
Better supply chain management that uses a pull-based method for automated intercompany replenishment
Anytime, anywhere access to reliable stock levels and prices, which speeds processes and reduces workloads
Enhanced product traceability with bar code scanning and automated quality control
Harmonized processes to allow employees to follow margins by product, product category and brand, which facilitates better decision-making
Intelligent operations with Microsoft Dynamics 365
Eclosia’s data is now a strategic asset that can infuse intelligence across business processes, so employees can focus on driving business value and satisfying customers.
DGS gains performance data two days faster with harmonized business processes
DGS selected Avanade as a partner to help it upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics 365 on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
Using a hybrid agile approach, we helped DGS implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to harmonize its IT landscape and business processes – including finance, supply chain and automotive tasks – on the cloud.
The platform also integrates with the company’s manufacturing execution systems to help improve data quality and ensure proper processes.
The manufacturing execution system integration is a big part of our digitalization. It’s important that we have two systems that talk to each other and are connected by defining the interfaces and the processes
Chief Financial Officer, DGS
DGS is an innovative and international manufacturer of complex, high-quality die casting components with locations in Switzerland, China and the Czech Republic.
Siloed ERP systems limit operational visibility
For more than a decade, the company was running an ERP system with different setups in each location, which was inefficient to maintain.
Greater financial overview and control
Improved efficiencies across production sites
Harmonized business processes on a single platform
Access to relevant and timely data to make better business decisions
DGS is now two working days faster in closing processes, which means financial managers get the information they need to make better, more qualified decisions two days sooner
More integrated and continuous business processes, such as manufacturing, purchasing, sales and accounting, to help DGS achieve operational efficiency and agility
Improved budgeting so resources are allocated where they are needed
Enhanced reporting and controlling capabilities for leadership to evaluate the performance of different organizational resources and processes
Business process integration
on Microsoft Dynamics 365
The combination of analytics, automation and artificial intelligence on the updated Dynamics 365 platform can help DGS maximize business value and agility. This will fuel the company’s competitive advantage – and prepare it for whatever comes next.

Seattle Goodwill implements new platform through joint workshops and store visits
Seattle Goodwill’s ERP system was at the end of life but, because the organization wanted to stay on the Microsoft platform, it selected Dynamics 365
Seattle Goodwill worked with Avanade as part of our Technology for Social Good program
Through joint workshops and store visits, we helped the nonprofit implement a new Dynamics-based platform, consisting of four key elements covering point of sale, finance and operations, production suite and supply-chain management
The implementation was made challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the team was able to adapt successfully using a smaller group of people working virtually
The new technology is not just about what Seattle Goodwill is able to do now; it's also setting us up for the future. It all ties together. The system enables faster production and improved output which leads to a better customer experience. The customers buy more, which provides revenue so we can

Aging business systems, consisting of disconnected solutions supported by manual processes.
